Providing you don't need RAW capture or manual controls, the CX4 is a pretty decent camera — even if it is a letdown compared to other Ricoh models that have come before.

A minor upgrade to the CX3 model with six new scene pre-sets and revamped cosmetics.Ricoh's CX4 is a relatively minor upgrade to the CX3, which was announced in February this year. The 10-megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor and Smooth Imaging Engine IV image processor appear unchanged, as does the 10.7x optical wide-angle zoom lens. Video capture remains at 720p maximum resolution.

It hit the doorstep, all blushing pink in colour… Ricoh’s latest entry into the compact stakes – the Ricoh CX4. This pink is a startling colour and, just to set your mind at peace, it’s also available in a more sedate silver or black. Phew! Seemingly a run-of-the-mill digicam, the CX4 has a few tricks

A minor update over the CX3, but the lower price makes this a serious contender for the compact ultra-zoom crown.

Another busy 6 months has passed in the digital photography world, and right on cue, the Ricoh CX4 appears as the replacement for the already out-of-date CX3 compact camera. New features include a reworked body, improved image stabilisation system, subject-tracking auto-focus mode, and some creative filters. The CX4 retains the 10.7x lens, 720p HD movies, 3 inch screen, and 10 megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor of its predecessor. Read the World's first Ricoh CX4 review to find out if it can keep up with the travel-zoom competition.

The CX4 is the latest advanced compact in the CX range from Ricoh. It has an eye-catching specification, but does it offer enough to compete with the big guns?

Review : Ricoh CX4

It hardly seems like yesterday when I took a look at the Ricoh CX3 compact digital camera. Actually it was more like four months ago but that hardly gives the company enough time to develop and manufacture a new model. Yet here we are with the latest offering from Ricoh. Not surprisingly this new product is entitles CX4.
