Pros

  • The Fender was much more robust
  • a comfortable place to rest my hand
  • The tones are great and the components pretty much state of the art
  • Nice and easy to play neck
  • The action is very nice
  • good Rickenbacker and well any good instrument
  • well balanced and a reasonable mass for it's size
  • sound is strong and typical
  • The handle is nice
  • The construction and quality is beyond impeccable
  • Every detail is perfectly done

Cons

  • The ergonomics are still awkward for me
  • basses are not cheap
  • not great with aggressive rock sounds
  • Rickenbacker only makes a limited number of instruments a year
  • neck is a little too wide
  • scaling screws are placed in quite an inconvenient position
  • Cache pickup requires the strings to stay very close to the microphone
  • it's always been a pain
  • The pickup cover is pretty stupid
  • rendering them a bit useless
  • the high gain pickups often cause a lot of noise with the gain knob
