The iPad app looks great
its sound quality is excellent
Pioneer's interface is a good deal better than Denon's
Sound quality is excellent
new ways of thinking
new connections
and new industries
the VSX-1021 is very attractive
1021's design is understated

It takes up a lot of space
-K does not have built-in support for many music streaming services
remote is tough to use
inferior onscreen display
limited to music on your iOS device
Lack of Audyssey is also my biggest hangup with Pioneer receivers
Noticeably absent from the feature list is HDMI pass-thru
any analogue inputs or outputs for integrating legacy gear or external amplifiers
it lost its connection to my router on several occasions
for a troubleshooting headache and frazzled nerves
bumpy ride along the way
