Pfaff Ambition Essential

Pros

  • The stitches are lovely and consistent
  • Pfaff Ambition Essential is surprisingly lightweight
  • Sequential stitching was equally easy to accomplish
  • It was very helpful and the comments are great help too
  • The menus are easy to navigate and follow
  • Sewing with the IDT is wonderful
  • Pfaff buttonholes are good
  • It sews beautifully on a range of fabrics as you can see on my blog
  • the IDT alone is great
  • The Brother also sewed very nicely
  • good buttonholes are important and ease in making them

Cons

  • they struggle on uneven surfaces
  • this machine is SOOO noisy

  • It does not store any personal data
  • getting tired of struggling with my old Brother to quilt Queen size quilts
  • simply depress the C button to clear the memory
  • freehand quilting is rather difficult on a non-quilting machine
  • Bernina accessories are a lot more expensive in general
  • Neither machine was able to make a buttonhole on the boiled wool
  • mine has a problem with making them on heavier garments
  • The reverse button seems to response really slow
