Everything that makes the Pentax system great, now at a lower price
The Pentax K-50 is a new mid-range DSLR camera that offers a lot of bang for your buck. The 16 megapixel K-50 is fully weatherproof, as is the kit zoom lens, and it also offers 6fps continuous shooting, an 11-point AF system, an optical viewfinder with nearly 100% frame coverage and an ISO range of 100-51200. Read our in-depth Pentax K-50 review to find out if there's still life in the DSLR...
The Pentax K-50 is a DSLR with 81 weather-resistant seals
A weatherproof all-rounder well-suited to beginners
Following on from the distinctive styling of the K-30, the new Pentax K-50 is a mid-range, sensitively priced DSLR featuring a tried-and-tested stabilized 16-MPix CMOS sensor with fine-tuned image processing and sensor sensitivity of up to ISO 51,200. Read on to see how well it performs in our labs.
The Pentax K-50 is a entry-level priced DSLR with an APS-C image sensor that aims to compete with more rugged mid-range cameras. A 16.3-megapixel CMOS image sensor pairs with the PRIME M image processor for low light sensitivity (ISO 100 - 51200), quick 6 fps high speed burst shooting, and Full 1080p
The K-50 is chock full of interesting features (such as weather sealing), but its image quality isn't the best.
To improve my general purpose and family photography, which camera should I choose?
This is quite a meaty DSLR kit unit, however for me a little spoilt by its white colour, while this may be being picky %C2%96 again %C2%96 it does draw attention to the unit and if you are taking images in a %C2%91less savoury area%C2%92 it could mean you are targeted.
Both stuffed with semimanual shooting options, the weather-sealed K-50 and the K-500 seem like great deals. But they just don't come through on the photo quality.
