Google launched the Open Automotive Alliance in January to put Android in your dashboard to control your phone, just like Apple announced CarPlay as a system to control your iOS device. Parrot's Asteroid Smart doesn't participate in either of these programs, but goes their own way instead.Read more
Things we learned in Part 1: My car is old. It only played CDs. Angle grinder use on dashboards is best left to professionals. The Parrot Asteroid Smart seems to do a lot of cool stuff.And that’s the thing, right?   • and has all the qualities of the best smartphone screens
  • Great
  • Very convenient and thoughtful system
  • the launch of applications is fast
  • this is a perfectly acceptable time
  • Great expandability thanks to Android
  • this works and will work without any
  • The speed is excellent
  • The screen was surprisingly responsive
  • It turned out pretty simple and elegant

Cons

  • spending money on the screen and processor
  • BadA little too big to be a permanent fixture
  • dash bored mount appears to have no wires connecting it
  • no gps antenna that can be plugged into the Parrot Asteroid Tablet
  • the screen is a little small for this)
  • There s a reset button
  • I would not connect the parking brake wire
  • there are no connectors except an SD card slot
  • iGo is not installed
  • proprietary OSes almost do not allow to expand the functionality
  • multitouch in iGo is not supported
