Pros

  • 20x zoom is a good balance of physical size to capability
  • street photography camera offers a good balance of image quality plus portability
  • The night photograph was excellent
  • various movie options are sensibly stored in an easy to understand Motion Picture menu
  • Intelligent Auto Mode system works very well
  • Macro performance is very good
  • TZ35 has a fairly respectable battery life of 260 shots

Cons

  • quirky flip-up screen
  • doesn't have any connections for external microphones and headphones
  • RAW photos are not supported so the user has less room to maneuver in post
  • focusing lack of manual focus external flash
  • Panasonic ZS35 has no manual focus
  • very sluggish and not great in low light situations
  • only Contrast Detect AF and is missing Phase Detect AF
  • It takes about 1 second to store an image
  • camera battery is now rather inconveniently charged via the USB port
  • The camera takes the same amount of time again to apply noise reduction
  • there's still no support for the RAW file format
