  • Motion performance is very good
  • GX8 is easily among the best in the class

  • simpler UI
  • and far better C-AF
  • the perfect photo while still having plenty of resolution is very valuable
  • G85 is the better all arounder
  • Great quality
  • perfect size - not
  • looks and feels great to use

Cons

  • does struggle to connect when the battery is low
  • chromatic aberration
  • edge sharpness
  • Low light is a bit of an issue
  • no kit lens to use for testing
  • the camera uses a fair bit of software
  • slightly pared down from its original design following an
  • terrible AF on my older DSLRS)
  • problematic AF in video
  • detection/tracking works poorly
  • the video is not the best in the class
