Pros

  • the unit itself is understated and looks refreshingly minimalist
  • the user interface is beautifully presented and operates smoothly
  • the guide is responsive and the colour-coded controls are useful
  • The interface is slick and simple
  • It s a very nice function
  • painless and quick and we were up and running in around 5 minutes
  • overall styling to be quite pleasing and fairly worthy of its flagship standing

Cons

  • Panasonic hasn t spruced up the onscreen menus
  • s a little fatter to accommodate the extra recording hardware
  • the seven-channel programme grid is squashed up
  • lack of BBC iPlayer is most disappointing
  • disjointed nature of the menu structure
  • It may not display this or other websites correctly
  • there s no support for MP3 from SD
  • Pausing live TV can seem a little sluggish to respond
  • on Panasonic's flat screen Viera TVs
  • it can't record in 3D from the Sky 3D channel
  • TVs can convert anything - including Freeview - on the fly
