Next-generation GPUs for next-generation PC gaming
We previously reviewed the RTX 2060 Super, one of the latest SUPER graphics cards from NVIDIA. Today, it's time to check out the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080
Nvidia's GeForce RTX 2080 Founders Edition is in a difficult position. It has to compete against GeForce GTX 1080 Ti at a higher price point, and with a number of features not yet available to enjoy. Can it shine as bright as the flagship RTX 2080 Ti?
An impressive graphics card for a king’s ransom
Nvidia's penultimate GeForce RTX 2080 GPU has a lot to prove in the coming months.
It was very bold of NVIDIA to debut its flagship implementation of the Turing architecture right next to the RTX 2080, poised to be the poster-boy of this architecture. This card packs the promise of real-time ray tracing, of sorts. NVIDIA also put out its best cooler design since TITAN. All that beauty comes at a price.
Nvidia's GeForce RTX 2080 Super is the second most-powerful GPU ever released, but it loses its unique identity in the new-look Super lineup.
An exceptionally powerful graphics card, the GeForce RTX 2080 Founders Edition is a home run for gaming at 4K or high refresh rates. Only its pricing and the lack of games supporting ray tracing and DLSS keep it from being a grand slam right from launch.
But, with few ray tracing and AI-boosted games, the RTX 2080 stuggles to justify itself as a traditional GPU
Incremental performance improvements.
We review the GeForce RTX 2080 founders (reference) edition. The little sister of the Ti model still packs some serious punch as it takes on the 1080 Ti anywhere and everywhere. Of course, the RTX 208... Introduction
