Does nikon d40 have a flash?
    dexter.nicolas
You can still use the D40 with a Nikon SB-800 flash to control multiple remote flash units, but the built-in flash doesn't have that ability on its own.

    What mount is nikon d40?
    ervin
Nikon D40 Lenses. Nikon D40 has a Nikon F lens mount and currently there are 316 native lenses available for this mount. Beware that Nikon D40 doesn't have an internal focus motor so it will not auto focus with old-style screw-drive autofocus (AF) lenses.

Is nikon d40 a good camera?
    tynisha.satterfield
The Nikon D40x has a 10.2MP APS-C sensor. 10.2MP is a modest number compared to most modern DSLR cameras, but the image quality is still very good. The camera has the Nikon Image processing engine, which you will also find in the D80 and D200 models. This is more than capable of meeting the needs of a beginner.

Does nikon d40 have live view?
    keneth
The Nikon D40 does not provide live-view. You have two options for using this camera with Dragonframe: Use a separate video camera or USB camera to provide live video. Work without live video, capturing 'preview' frames instead.

Is nikon d40 a dslr camera?
    rupert.damore
The D40 is Nikon's smallest and lightest DSLR camera yet – and also the easiest to operate. Designed for everyday photographers, it replaces the D50 model and features the same 6.1-megapixel imager but sports a larger 2.5-inch high-resolution colour LCD monitor.

The Nikon D40 is a great entry level SLR, and a good competitor to Canon's EOS 400D. It captures high quality pictures, has speedy operation and great low light performance, making it a wonderful choice for the budding enthusiast.

Nikon D40 Review

The Nikon D40 is an all new affordable, compact, point-and-shoot digital SLR from Nikon, it follows on from the D50 but at a significantly lower price point and with a subtly different feature set. The biggest news however is probably fact that Nikon resisted the temptation to keep chasing megapixels (hooray for that) and instead appear to have concentrated on what makes a good camera, a decent viewfinder, short shutter lag, very short viewfinder blackout. They've trimmed some of the 'less important features' (you can't change the exposure steps for example) but have squeezed a range of new features such as custom Auto ISO which we welcomed with the D80.
