The lens is not claimed to be weatherproof
considerable light fall-off in the image corners
it has an inexplicably short foot
77mm filter thread that does not rotate on focus
the front lens element does not rotate on focus
two big control rings on the barrel
the lens foot is still too short for this lens
nasty flare on the right bottom side of the image
the lens itself is not fully weather sealed
lack of VR makes it tough to use it in low-light conditions
size collapsed at 80mm and without a lens hood
Edges are a little softer
Sharpness dips at 400mm and toward edges of frame
the average shows a slight increase in barrel distortion
The new version is also heavier than its predecessor
