this lens has a very good usability
sharper
and much more consistent
performance
a very good swiss knife for allround pictures
quite sharp and has good optics
it is truly versatile
macro capability is surprisingly good
quiet and accurate

lacks the silent focusing motor found on the Nikon
The maximum aperture is a third of a stop slower at 300mm also
The price may seem a little steep
the lens suffers from quite strong focus breathing
this lens is not much fun to focus manually
the speed is on the slow side
the focus ring is quite thin and the travel path rather short
the lens obviously does not target the professional market
but a bit heavy to use all day long
became quite problematic in normal room lighting
no hard stop at either end of the range
Focus Breathing Early adopters of this lens reported significant focus breathing
there is no aperture ring
Sometimes slow focus may appear but not something terrible
