Pros

  • similar price and rather more flexible
  • technical back and forth is impressive
  • Compact and lightweight
  • make it easy to shoot compelling lifestyle images
  • distortion control seems to be very good
  • solid and well-built
  • advantages
  • less of vignetting and the speed probably most tangible
  • Nikkors' AF accuracy and importantly
  • consistency
  • Bokeh size difference is very interesting

Cons

  • lack of performance
  • Nikon primes shows less background blur at the same aperture settings
  • Weird flare and really soft corners
  • perspective distortion is caused by subject to lens distance
  • Not suitable for macro shooters
  • Focus throw is quite short
  • the filter thread appear to be plastic
  • 8G ED is not sealed against dust and moisture
  • it has no aperture ring
  • and it does not expose the inner barrel of the lens
  • the internal components do not seem to be reinforced with metal as they are on the 24mm
