Pros

  • feature set and sound quality are
  • competitors sound more laid back and easier to listen to long term
  • S1 speaker itself is pretty straightforward
  • The SoundStage app is basic and easy to navigate
  • SoundStage is truly impressive
  • the setup was fairly easy assuming everything goes well

Cons

  • include power specifications
  • recessed midrange and hyped bass/treble sound makes
  • no remote control included with the unit
  • Monster lost its lucrative Beats contract
  • also sound a little too cymbal-heavy
  • the Soundstage app was unable to find the S1 speaker
  • two large circular bumps behind the biggest speakers
  • leave some tracks sounding a bit washed out at close range
  • Only the currently selected input type will be lit
  • the piano and guitars sounded a bit too bright for my taste
  • digital or analog inputs you cannot push that sound out to all the speakers
