Moccamaster KBG741 AO

Pros

  • durable metal housings and sustainable plastics
  • a five-year warranty is also pretty exceptional
  • the heating element ensures the optimal water temperature
  • looks great on the counter and is simple and easy to use and clean
  • built quality is first class and customer service A one
  • The coffee is quite good
  • it looked great and straightforward to use

Cons

  • only for coffee
  • Use cold water either filtered or fresh and frothy from the tap
  • Moccamaster review was a bit outdated
  • there s no hot plate on the version with a thermal carafe
  • the original s hardware seems almost quaintly old-timey
  • KBG 741 is more expensive than other Technivorm machines
  • dropped it onto a hard floor
  • coffee pot is trickier to pour and feels thin and fragile enough for me to
  • the machine costs twice that of the late lamented Lakeland unit
  • the heated water was running back down the top arm
  • glass carafe has a thin plastic handle that feels cheap and does not provide measurement marks
