Pros

  • far and to me is far more comfortable and convenient than a chest strap
  • the fit is more consistent
  • the units track fairly well against each other
  • A good old fashioned sweep second hand watch has been fail safe
  • Bluetooth smart support and paired with no problem
  • was diverse and straight forward was great
  • it works just fine and records generally accurate data
  • prototype worked quite well for all of my workouts

Cons

  • Hard to change tracks and generally heavy
  • lack of range of ANT+ under-water

  • inability to clearly segment portions of a workout
  • Sometimes the watch fails to detect your heart rate be
  • it on your wrist a bit tighter than you would a normal watch
  • the Alpha was sometimes losing my heart rate was
  • it does not yet work with Android
  • There are only two buttons (one on each side)
