Mad Catz' iconic R.A.T. gaming mouse returns once more. Can it devour the competition?
Mad Catz' new DAKOTA mechanical switches and a 16k DPI sensor turn the R.A.T. DWS into a hugely responsive wireless mouse at a premium price
The Mad Catz R.A.T. series is the Marmite of gaming mice. It looks and feels unlike anything else on the market, and you either love it or you hate it. I really have found it to be a product that divides gamers. Myself, I love the design, and I've always found them to be rather comfortable too, especially the more advanced ones with adjustable ergonomics. They've had some success in recent months with the phenomenal R.A.T. 8+, which I reviewed here. However, now the R.A.T. is cutting the cables and going wireless, with the DWS Wireless Gaming Mouse. Mad Catz
With the DWS, Mad Catz takes its modular R.A.T. design and cuts the cord. The wireless gaming mouse has many useful, customizable elements, but a few design issues prevent it from being the big cheese.
While it has almost the same shape and size as the wired R.A.T. 8+ ADV, the wireless R.A.T. DWS promises up to 200 hours of battery life, top-tier tracking thanks to PixArt's PAW3335 sensor, and particularly low-latency main button switches, along with several customization options.
