Pros

  • The camera has Face detect which is helpful for people photography
  • It can also capture fast moving subjects in sharp focus
  • and its ability to capture faster frame rates
  • affordability and compact design
  • cleaner and simpler in design
  • The new Quick Menu is simpler to use
  • incredibly fast and versatile combination
  • The text is cleaner and more professional - less 80 s looking
  • focusing is practically instantaneous
  • V-Lux 4 menu screen is much nicer
  • footage we got was packed with detail while colours were nicely realistic

Cons

  • it remains incomplete and does no justice
  • built-in flash is not very powerful
  • too often partial
  • inconsistent
  • and inaccurate
  • larger sensors tend to be more expensive and lead to bigger and heavier cameras and lenses
  • and stock clearance sales often push the camera price considerably down
  • the V-Lux 3 is a bit garish
  • barely any noticeable slow down if you choose to shoot Raw and JPEG together
  • very sluggish and not good in low light events
  • the display is not a touch screen
