Pros

  • Video quality is very good with impressive levels of detail
  • low levels of noise and good levels of detail
  • making it easy to compare with other cameras
  • the noise is controlled well and the details are preserved extensively
  • It certainly looks classy and German
  • The night photograph was excellent
  • Macro performance is very good
  • the D-LUX 3 is very nice for a small sensor camera
  • The controls are placed well and can be accessed quickly and easily
  • The lens focuses fast and the images are quite sharp
  • Excellent image quality

Cons

  • badly assembled top on the body
  • overpriced rangefinders and Panasonic clones
  • flash does increase the size of the camera when attached
  • quite measure up
  • It lacks a built-in flash
  • the pictures seem to be smudged and not ideal for prints
  • the grip on the front missing
