Kodak is arguably the most famous brand name of all in photography, at least in the Western world. But the company responsible for such iconic products as the Box Brownie and Kodachrome (and even the world's first digital camera in 1975) ultimately failed to manage the transition from film to digital, and ended up exiting the consumer imaging business altogether in 2013. The name itself has been licensed by JK Imaging Ltd, which has been quietly selling compact cameras under the Kodak brand for the past year or so, mainly long-range superzooms. But now it's got more ambitious, and has introduced its first interchangeable-lens camera: the Micro Four Thirds Pixpro S-1.
The Kodak EasyShare M580 has 8x zoom, a 14MP sensor and image stabilisation
The Kodak Easyshare M580 is a new entry-level camera with some advanced features, including a wide-angle 8x zoom lens, 14 megapixel sensor, HD video and a large 3 inch LCD screen. Officially retailing for £179.99 / $199.95, read our expert Kodak Easyshare M580 Review.
The venerable Kodak name is back with the Pixpro S-1, a Micro Four Thirds compact system camera. Boasting a 16 megapixel CMOS sensor, 3-inch 920k-dot articulated LCD, sensor-shift image stabilisation and Full HD video recording capabilities, can the first-generation Kodak Pixpro S-1 compete with its more well-established rivals? Read our in-depth Kodak Pixpro S-1 review to find out...
The Kodak Pixpro S-1 mirrorless camera offers an attractive feature set, but it's on the slow side and the bundled lenses leave a lot to be desired. Better options abound.
