  • High notes are crisp
  • open and have just the right amount of bite
  • Dimensionality and soundstage are pretty great as well

Cons

  • ugly power-supply brick on the planet
  • installing third-party software on my iMac
  • The power cord is just that- a cord
  • The sound stage is understandably a bit closed off due to the compact size
  • stereo spread is lacking
  • no remote in the box
  • convenience of using my phone made the remote feel a bit superfluous
  • the DSP system that controls the process has been heavily revised
  • Mu-so only works on a mains socket
  • HDMI connection is resolutely stereo only and has nothing in the way of surround modes
  • it has never been content to do background music
