  • substantially better single-core and multi-core performance
  • in-depth reviews and helpful tips
  • lower is better and more consistent is better than lower
  • are both good numbers and are completely acceptable

Cons

  • also a little bit on the expensive side for an average user
  • is bad or good from benchmark data and comparisons with other processors
  • gaming performance is still a bit of a difficult undertaking
  • the -9600K's Turbo Boost frequencies quite a bit
  • much faster in games than cheaper quad-cores
  • noticeably jarring performance in Far Cry
  • consistently spurious on just the lower thread-count CPUs
  • Civilization has never really leveraged cores as much as it has frequency
