Gibson Acoustic J-15

Pros

  • solid tuning stability and great fine control
  • well-made instrument with quality materials and it plays nice
  • great looking round-shouldered guitar with a great sound
  • the price was very reasonable for a US built instrument
  • The walnut back and sides are also solid
  • The Rosewood fingerboard looks great and is comfortable to play
  • This finish is also very scratch-resistant
  • beautiful grain and versatile tonal properties
  • sounds great strummed and clear and powerful with a flatpick
  • The ideal acoustic guitar possesses both qualities
  • It s a nice guitar made of nice tonewoods

Cons

  • s now discontinued
  • guitar was lacking was at the bottom end
  • getting hung up on it
  • J-15 may be a little too bright
  • the bracing appears to be rough-edged
  • Dovetail neck joints are difficult to make well
  • response to fingerpicking is a little lackluster
  • it doesn t get so bright that it sounds tinny
