Pros

  • Quick fit bands are a nice touch to come standard with
  • sapphire face is fantastic
  • Phone connections are easy to set up on pretty much every modern smartphone
  • Fenix 5 is impressive across the board
  • sapphire glass is scratch resistant and more durable than the ones with normal glass
  • The plastic band works better and looks decent
  • the numbers also get better
  • good enough to see maps and get a decent viewing area
  • comfortable to wear
  • The 935 was also quicker to charge
  • the battery is fine for me

Cons

  • it just lacks topo-specific maps
  • hard on my equipment
  • speeding while driving
  • without stopping to pull out the paper map
  • this is a slow process
  • watch fails before the minimum operating temperature
  • No more awkward arm swings in front of your face to check the distance when swimming
  • the fenix 5 is heavier and thicker
  • Garmin started using a non-proprietary charger
  • slower than the 935 with similar battery life
  • Garmin Connect are slightly less detailed
