Pros

  • Sharpness is great
  • color is good
  • improved grip and control layout
  • additions of subtle modern features are a welcome change
  • noise levels are
  • X30 is fairly decent
  • is extremely good for a point and shoot
  • excellent contrast and a very sharp image
  • excellent new electronic viewfinder and a good hybrid AF system
  • on-body controls it makes the X30 a joy to shoot with
  • decent colour and low noise

Cons

  • X30 doesn't have a Selfie friendly screen
  • the move away from the optical viewfinder
  • the automatic white balance settings are hit or miss
  • in areas where there's a hard edge
  • Video is passable
  • touchscreens are still far from ubiquitous in cameras
  • The display tilts up and down on a pull-out hinge
  • Fujifilm X30 does seem quite chunky
  • struggled with vague or moving subjects in low light
  • Video capture has never been Fujifilm's strongest area
  • losing pace with its ever-evolving rivals
