Does Samsung Gear S need a SIM card?
    karly.heidenreich
The Gear S can work by itself because it has a SIM-card slot, however, you'll need a Samsung device to set it up initially (see software). With its own SIM, the Gear S can do everything your smartphone can do like make calls (it has a tiny speaker), send texts and connect to 3G networks – no 4G here.

Is Samsung Gear S watch waterproof?
    orville
Do not immerse the device in water deeper than 1 m and keep it submerged for more than 30 minutes. Do not expose the device to water moving with force, such as water running from a tap, ocean waves, or waterfalls. If the device or your hands are wet, dry them thoroughly before handling the device.

Is the Samsung gear S2 still worth buying?
    ben_greenfelder
The Samsung Gear S2 is still a fine choice if you're an Android user, but there are a few reasons that you may want to consider the Samsung Gear S3. The Gear S3 features a larger battery, has GPS built-in and offers a bit more RAM than the Gear S2.
