Pros

  • plenty of power and a crisp
  • Sound output is amazing for EDM
  • them were uniformly noise-free
  • detailed and solid
  • M Box 2 has a great deal in common with its predecessor
  • zero-latency monitoring works well enough
  • nice to see electronically balanced monitor output sockets
  • both stylish and sturdy
  • industry standard and a great way to get your home studio up and running
  • portable and efficient config
  • it is musical and faithful

Cons

  • Slightly inadequate direct monitoring system
  • the M Box has faced increasingly stiff competition
  • no way to drop in on existing tracks whilst monitoring with zero latency
  • Lacks the M Box's insert points
  • no option to disable input monitoring in software
  • lack of any facility to disable input monitoring can be annoying
  • the power LED does not light
  • no VU meters on the actual unit - only a peak light
