This new Denon Blu-ray player is a digital transport, which means that it has no analog outputs in the audio or video realm. The DVD-2500TBCI ($899) does have high-resolution audio decoding, but it's a Profile 1.1 player with no network connectivity or BD-Live support.Read more

Pros

  • These incredible pictures are complemented by an exceptional sonic delivery
  • performance is superb
  • Video and Audio quality is perfect and the build quality is excellent
  • the machine performs fine
  • The set-up menu is pretty straightforward
  • The front of the player is pretty simple
  • smooth arcing of the face from top to bottom is graceful
  • uncompressed Dolby TrueHD soundtrack was amazing
  • Skin tones were true and grasses perfectly green
  • Colours are amazingly natural
  • edges are razor-sharp

Cons

  • Blu-ray player not a Blu-ray player
  • Toshiba A35 is a pain for FW updates
  • bitstreaming and HDMI only output
  • extra features their are also a lot of glitches
  • It lacks internal and mountable memory or an Ethernet port
  • nearly impossible to go back to the old SD format
  • No cutting corners on featuresIt's not as stripped down and basic
  • none-too-shoddy graphics
