  • fast shot-to-shot performance is always welcome
  • slimmer and lighter
  • The touchscreen is fairly responsive when using the menus
  • improved handling and controls
  • G5X still manages a nice 11 x 14 inch print
  • It feels solid and well made
  • The camera feels very well built
  • Skin tones are reproduced very nicely and match their given values nearly perfectly
  • The noise results are very good
  • Color reproduction in videos is fine
  • The dynamic range results are very good

Cons

  • the camera struggled to track moving subjects and metering was still fixed
  • Additional batteries are expensive at 50 each
  • it narrowly failed my jeans pocket test
  • The viewfinder image could be bigger
  • the corners tend to fall off in sharpness
  • heavily smoothed Jpeg output
  • the autofocussing is a nightmare
  • it s just too big for trouser pockets
  • hasn t scrimped on the screen as a result
  • hasn t tried to squeeze any other control dials up
  • lack of a viewfinder"
