The Nikon D7100 is a 24.1-megapixel digital single-lens reflex camera model announced by Nikon in February 2013. It is a 'prosumer' model that replaces the Nikon D7000 as Nikon's flagship DX-format camera, fitting between the company's entry-level and professional DSLR models.

The D7100 is a great camera for still photography, but doesn't feel like a must-have upgrade unless you've got a significant investment in good Nikon-mount lenses and need speed and durability on a budget.

Does nikon d7100 have autofocus motor?
    richard.kulas
The Nikon D7100 has a built-in focus motor for use with “older” non-AF-S lenses. That works noticeably slower but we have not tested it extensively. Maintaining AF with built-in AF motor is a major plus compared to the Nikon D3200 or Nikon D5200, if you use old Nikon lenses without built-in AF motor.

Can i use my nikon d7100 as a webcam?
    florance
The easiest way to set up your Nikon camera as a webcam is to use the new Nikon Webcam Utility. First, download and install the free Nikon Webcam Utility program for either PC or Mac. Next, you should connect your Nikon camera to your computer using a simple USB plug-and-play method. And that's it.

Can you charge a nikon d7100?
    darrick_torp
There is no plug on the camera for that AC cable to go. The only way to power the camera from AC power is to get an adapter that looks like a battery and have it sit in the battery slot. You must remove the battery from the camera to charge it.

The D7100 also includes a highly sought-after feature that makes the D7100 quite a professional-level video camera: uncompressed, clean HDMI output. This feature is not found on many video-capable still cameras, and is typically seen on high-end video and cinema cameras.

Nikon D7100 review: Update to popular DSLR drops anti-alias filter for sharper images

Although the new Nikon D7100 looks fairly similar to its predecessor (the popular Nikon D7000), Nikon has made some significant changes under the hood that belie the surface similarity. The D7100 not only includes a higher-resolution CMOS sensor, but even more significantly, the company chose to use a sensor without an anti-alias filter for the first time on a non-full-frame DSLR. While this should enable better sharpness and resolution, it may also result in more moiré patterns in some images.
