Pros

  • 9000F's scan quality for prints was excellent
  • solid and well-built
  • make it easy to shoot compelling lifestyle images
  • 9000F handled 35mm slides fairly well
  • setup is easy
  • Colour recovery was quite good
  • straightforward control interface makes it easy to choose both fully automated scanning modes and user-controlled scanning
  • The controls are also intuitive and easy to understand
  • it a fairly high overall score
  • versatility
  • speed

Cons

  • 35mm negatives those flatbed are not the best option
  • the workaround is hard to find and cumbersome to use
  • scan quality the film scanning is limited
  • oranges tended to be over-saturated in some scans
  • can't over-ride the pre-sets
  • No cherry-picked units sent by manufacturers
  • No flatbed is going to match a document scanner in terms of multi-page speed
  • There is no native text recognition software
  • CanoScan's software is a bit more finicky
  • smaller text sometimes looked just slightly fuzzier than the what the high end document scanners produced
  • The scanner did not look so large in the pictures
