Cons

  • lacked the ability to scan film
  • scanning old slides onto the computer
  • MP-crazed DSLR owners tend to forget
  • flatbed scanners are not up to the detail
  • the latter is much more expensive
  • backlighting contraption with a lamp or a cellphone yielded some pretty awful looking scans
  • that does not include any direct light from the backlight
  • can scan 120mm film slides as well
  • save work whilst still scanning
  • it takes a fair amount of time to scan - about 1 minute per slide
  • Scanners lacking 64-bit drivers are not compatible with macOS 10
