Pros

  • precise water temperature and steam consistency
  • both are excellent
  • The electronics are fairly well implemented
  • Both served me very well over the last 7 years
  • The PID ensures a consistent extraction temperature
  • They are features that help achieve optimal espresso flavor
  • easy to navigate and just enjoyable to use
  • the steam wand and find it easy to use
  • Breville Dual Boiler espresso machine is easy to clean and maintain
  • fantastic
  • balanced espresso shot and cafe quality results

Cons

  • there s not much of a learning curve here
  • too low
  • then grind a little finer
  • water through cracks in the puck resulting in a poor extraction
  • the high end machines which often cost thousands
  • dual boiler is simply a bit of a monster of a machine
  • steam wand lacks the pressure of a commercial steam wand
  • boiler temp of the steam side will be higher than the coffee side
  • the steam pump is a bit underpowered
  • new users tend to be a little intimidated by the steam wand
  • It s still not a bean to brew one-touch system
