I still think the future of projectors lies with the cooler illumination technologies, LED and laser. But the hot lamp isn’t going anywhere any time soon: at the low end, prices for this class of DLP projector are coming down, while picture quality is quite visibly improving. BenQ, an old hand in this sector of the market, is currently offering a model that’s a notch or two up on the now discontinued W1070, which was very… Now read on…
A bargain Full HD beamer for your home cinema
BenQ improves what was already a great budget projector
BenQ launched two projectors W1070+ & W1080ST+. We had an impression with it and we are really impressed with the BenQ projectors do read our impression.
BenQ's new W1070+ 3D DLP projector adds support for their new wireless HD kit but does it offer enough to replace the existing W1070?
A bargain Full HD beamer for your home cinema
The sharp and clear picture impresses, but lack of subtlety in dark scenes and motion issues hamper this budget offering
If you want an affordable ticket to enjoy movies on the big screen in your own home, then look no further than BenQ's W1070 projector.
In today’s review we will look at a product with increasing popularity, that not only brings the entertainment of cinema to our home, but could also be an...
If you want a big image for little money then few come close to what the BenQ W1070 projector can offer.
The BenQ W1070 3D home entertainment projector offers high-quality 1080p video that's bright enough to stand up to ambient light, but it shows rainbow artifacts relatively easily.
The BenQ W1070 1080P projector is an all-round entertainer
PerformanceBenQ certainly didn’t skimp on the lamp, since the light output of the tiny W1070 is fantastic: 44.34 footlamberts (ftL) on my 102-inch 1.0-gain screen. To put that in perspective, it’s roughly 50% brighter than the Sony and JVC projectors featured in our February/March issue, and those were 3.5 to 4 times more expensive. However, the W1070’s contrast ratio wasn’t nearly as good as either of those, and here’s where the BenQ shows its budget roots. At the aforementioned brightness, the black level was 0.0233 ftL.
