The phone to spearhead the new mobile AR and VR movement
AR and VR, together 4EVA
The unlocked Asus ZenFone AR puts Google Tango in an accessible form factor with solid hardware, but the AR experience still feels unpolished, and the price is high for what you get.
According to Asus, the ZenFone AR is the first smartphone ever to be certified for Google Tango AR as well as Daydream VR. The smartphone running Android 7.0 is also equipped with very fast hardware to boot, like Qualcomm's high-end SoC Snapdragon 821 MSM8996, the Adreno 530 GPU, up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage, and a 5.7-inch WQHD OLED display.
The Zenfone AR is the only phone to deliver support for Google's Tango AR and Daydream VR platforms, but is it a reality-bending beast or a dud?
