Pros

  • incredibly quick and straightforward to get recording underway
  • sound quality is excellent on every input and output
  • Nanoface has balanced XLR inputs for microphone connections

Cons

  • it does not work on newer mac os systems
  • level metering is far more limited
  • The microphone preamps do have a sensitivity pad

Pros

  • incredibly quick and straightforward to get recording underway
  • sound quality is excellent on every input and output
  • Nanoface has balanced XLR inputs for microphone connections
  • very well-rounded and feature-packed interface
  • the drivers performed quite well
  • noise-free and very pleasing in quality
  • high-resolution metering and the clean signal path
  • versatile interface with impressive sound quality

Cons

  • it does not work on newer mac os systems
  • level metering is far more limited
  • The microphone preamps do have a sensitivity pad
  • unbalanced RCA line outputs
  • jack-to-phono adaptors in my possession
  • any quality usb audio card will
  • things are slightly more complicated
  • CPU spikes not present when running the same project using
  • EIE Pro requires a driver download from Akai
  • The lack of a collapsible design is lamentable
  • is less robust and no soft with the card
